Disability Assistance
Ohio’s Disability Financial Assistance Program is a safety net for needy individuals who do not meet all of the eligibility requirements necessary to receive help from other federal and state benefit programs, such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Ohio Works First (OWF). The Disability Financial Assistance (DFA) Program offers cash to individuals who meet the program’s eligibility requirements based on Ohio Administrative Code rules. An individual may receive assistance if they are disabled as determined by ODJFS, or were at least 60 years of age and been receiving DFA since June 2003. The maximum cash one person can receive on DFA is $115 per month. A face-to-face interview is required in order to apply for this program. Please contact The Lawrence County Department of Job and Family Services at (740) 532-3324 or (740) 867-3304 for additional information.
